Jaguar F-Type S Coupe Detail
The new Jaguar F-Type S Coupe has broken the boundaries of the ordinary meaning of elegant and classy. This is one amazing machine we were privileged to work on. Once we gaze on a vehicle with this much beauty it becomes intoxicating. For this particular detailer (aowheels) It became a goal to achieve perfection.
This new Jag came in with light to moderate scratches, swirls, water staining, adhesive residue and other usual new car problems. White vehicles can get away with paint defects simply because they are easily overlooked. “However” that still doesn’t make it right. A light-colored vehicle will still need the same attention a dark-colored vehicle would in order to be at it’s best. And not just at it’s best, but also clean. A clean paint surface (prep) will allow for better overall looks and protection. If this Jaguar was black… A few of the problems it had would drive a car lover insane… “Especially for being new,” but that’s the way it is. Cars don’t come this clean or this well protected. White and other light-colored vehicles are actually more difficult in the paint correction aspect of a detail, as they require much more focus. Paint defects in darker colored vehicles really stand out and are way more obvious.
With all that said…. Their was no short cuts taken while Brian was searching for perfection and the best results for this F-Type Coupe. He just doesn’t allow it!
A few of the small issues at hand:
The Jag is equipped with a panoramic glass roof that was already getting attached by hard water. (calcium/mineral deposit build-up) Our proper course of cleaning was done (machine polishing) to all horizontal glass and then was coated with 22ple VG1 Perfect Vision.
Some of the light to moderate scratches.
Lower front lip:
The front-end of this car had tons of swirls caused from poor machine polishing either by the manufacturer or the dealership. The black grill and trim components did not need a lot of aggressive polishing to repair the problem. We used a very safe approach in one-step. The Rupes UHS Easy-Gloss with the 4” yellow Rupes polishing pad. At a low speed with the Rupes LHR 75mini it made for the perfect match.
Below – 50/50
The front bumper was to most damaged of all. (our assumption would be the dealership buffed out this area after the plastic was removed from the shipping process) The swirls were pretty obvious under our lighting. The same machine was used to correct the swirls but with a different combo. 3″ Meguiar’s MF cutting disc primed with D300 and a few small drops of Meguiar’s M105…. Spicy Sauce!
Before & After : 5050’s
(Excellent Option right here) 20″ Forged / Carbon Wheels…. We know Carbon Fiber!
Wheels at the completed point. Protected with Swissvax Wax
The amazing cockpit of the Jaguar F-Type S (2 pictures were taken prior to leather and interior detailing)
The last picture will be of a bucket with warm/hot dirty water. It shows the amount of dirt pulled off the red and blk leather. The whole interior was giving a Swissvax Interior Treatment.
The Paint Correction process made a world of difference to the looks and feel but was still not good enough! The Jaguar was finished down with Swissvax Professional and Rupes 15 with white finishing pad. Prepping the paint work for a hand applied coat of Swissvax Concorso Wax. The car will not be a daily driver and only used for those special occasions so we decided on a good wax. If properly cared for this detail will last this car one year or longer.
A list of many other issues were also addressed in this detail that are not included here in the write-up. Tail-lights, motor, Swissvax Pneu rubber/tire treatment and trim, mesh grill detailing etc etc… Always lots involved in every detail! But still hope you enjoyed this one!
This car has a good road ahead of it! Looking it’s best and well protected! With just over 700 miles on the clock… We would like to welcome this Jaguar to the family of fine car care! Are you interested in protection your investment vehicle in the safest and most professional detailing manner? If so, we’d love to hear from you!
